Tanja Ostojic? was born in 1972 in Yugoslavia (Serbia). She is an independent performance and interdisciplinary artist and cultural activist, based in Berlin since 2003. Ostojic? includes herself as a character in performances and uses diverse media in her artistic researches, thereby examines social configurations and relations of power. She works predominantly from the feminist and migrant woman’s perspective, while political positioning and integration of the recipient define approaches in her work. Since 1994 she presented her work in a large number of exhibitions, venues and festivals around the world. She has given talks, lectures, seminars and workshops at academic conferences and at art universities around Europe and in the Americas. Her highly referential body of work has been included in anthologies and has been subject of numberers theoretical texts and researches in the filed of art history, theory, sociology, feminist and decolonial thought.

Her work is currently on exhibit in HOMOSEXUALITY_IES at Deutsche Historisches Museum Berlin, at MSUM, Museum of Contemporary Art Ljubljana and at Mesna Galeria Ljubljana. She has exhibited in Brooklyn Museum NYC, in the National Museum in Warsaw, in Zaheta National Gallery in Warsaw, MUMOK - Vienna, Ludwig Museum Budapest, Museum of Contemporary Art Ljubljana, Museum of Contemporary Art Belgrade, Museum of Contemporary Art Zagreb, Macedonian Museum of Contemporary art in Thessaloniki; inKW, HKW, nbk, ngbk and Akademie der Künste Berlin, etc. Most recent solo shows took place at Kunstpavillon Innsbruck and Skucgallery Ljubljana.Video und film festivals include: Oberhausen Kurzfilm und Video Festival, VidarteMexico City,Video Forum, Kyoto Biennial, Japan, Globale Film festival Berlin, Internationales Frauen Filmfestival, Dortmund, etc.
