Born in Khonkaen, Thailand, Pavana Reid moved to Northern Ireland in 1988 during the time of the on-going political troubles. Reid has a BA in Fine & Applied Art from Ulster University, Belfast, UK. 2006 – 2009. Reid works with performance art and performance related photography and moving image, both in solo and group collectives. Based on the complexity of identity - as both an individual and member of a community (local/global), she investigates identity as a changing and developing entity, as a perpetual process within wider notions of social norms. Her performances and her actions are intended as narratives that meet with the viewer’s own ideas, to become new experience.
Reid’s performances take place in public space as site-specific performances and she initiates art projects where she selects artists to work together under specific themes. She is currently curating an online project Together Elsewhere and co- organising Open Session events for Performance Art Bergen.
