Born in 1961, lives and works in Santiago de Chile.

I am interested in the relationship between myself and the others, and how I am the "other" of the "other", with its implications in the construction of my own self as an artist, in an era where the image of the other is validated through the use of technology; in particular, I am interested in the use of surveillance technology as a media of exploration of our relationship with the perceived world of the "other".

 A long-time scholar of Performance Art history, Alexander del Re became a performance artist in 1993, and since then he has performed in more than 14 countries of North and South America, Europe and Asia. He is the co-founder of the international performance art festival PerfoPuerto in Santiago de Chile.
