Born in the Isle Of Wight, since 1975 he has lived in Ireland and from there with his nomadic practice has worked widely across the world.
His practice includes Photography and Audio and Video production.
He is a musician and involved in music production, but also hands on both as a cabinet maker and builder.
In many countries in further education as a lecturer and teacher and senior critic where his primary focus is in graduate studies and critical discourse in numerous courses.
From 1982-2019 he was fine art faculty at the Royal College of Art in London and since 2014 as Professor in Fine Art (Performance)
The central contention of his practice now over half a century is that art making is a live and direct way forward. Not valuable for what’s left behind but what may be discovered in the maybe of the here and now. Directly before the eyes of the beholder.
