Jouni Partanen, Finland

Born in 1972, living and working in Lahti

Jouni Partanen is undoubtedly one of the most interesting contemporary Finnish performance artists today. His performances are highly visual, sometimes terryfing, sometimes very tender. Treating themes like isolation, claustrophobia, but also the alienation of our identity in society, Partanen never leaves the viewer untouched.
He divides his time between performance and visual art and organisation of performance events. In recent years Partanen has been especially active in the Poor Artists in Residence club and festival.
